INSURANCE OPTIONS
CDW insurance
The rental fee includes Collision Damage Waiver insurance for all of our cars and Third Party Liability Insurance.
In the case of BASIC CDW insurance, the tenant is liable for damages up to EUR 3,000. If no insurance is purchased Platinum/Gold/Silver, a deposit of EUR 3,000 will be collected at our office when signing the rental agreement and returned on the day of returning the car, on the same card you paid with before.
So that you can sleep soundly and remember your vacation in Iceland fondly, we suggest purchasing Platinum insurance. Believe us, it will save money and problems for all of us.

Tire protection

* ( covers repair in the workshop+assembly, purchase of a new tire+assembly. In case of cutting a tire, lessees has to change the tire by themselves. ).The insurance covers the driving part of the tire, the tire tread. A tire cut on the side is not covered by insurance. A side tire cut is considered OFF-ROAD driving which is prohibited in Iceland. Continuing to drive on a flat tire is not covered by insurance, you should replace it immediately because the rim will damage the tire and it will not be repairable.

IMPORTANT ! ! !
The insurance is against a road accident, random events on the road or road collisions. For the irresponsible behavior of the lessor, the insurance does not return the money.
In the event of an accident on the road with another vehicle, you are required to complete an accident report (it is in the glove compartment of the car). Lack of an accident report with another vehicle results in the cancellation of the insurance and deposit.
Before continuing your journey from the parking lot, check the weather conditions on VEGAGERDIN. Road conditions are updated continuously. If the road is closed, you are obliged to wait and not leave the parking lot. If you encounter a snowstorm while driving, you are obliged to pull over to the nearest safe place and stop driving.
No insurance in Iceland covers :
- Chassis damage (driving on unauthorized roads, rocky terrain),
- Doors and fender torn/bent by the wind,
- Driving through rivers and watercourses,
- Roof damage (taking photos from the roof of the car),
- Driving on closed roads by the VEGAGERDIN Institute of Meteorology (the VEGAGERDIN map is on our website in the Safe travel in Iceland tab, see Road conditions),
- Personal items,
- Failure to report damage to the car when it was damaged,
